Its almost spring time! Well, maybe.. its been SO cold here in Texas lately, and when I said cold I mean, like freezing cold. I actually just started up a fire and made a pot of coffee to set a cozy mood for me to write this post. Hoping that the warmth with give me some ideas for all the spring time essentials.
I have been wanting to make a post about all the ways you can dress up any outfit. When I mean any outfit.. I mean ANY! You can usually find me in legging and a crop top, since working out is a must for me on the daily. I always try to find way to dress it up a little, because you know your girl has to be stylish everywhere. When I'm not in my workout attire, I love to get dressed up, its such a fun way to express yourself.
So I'll start out with the basics to dress up anything, these are so simple you'll wonder why you aren't implementing them already. They can be used all together or you can simply just pick one and it can change your whole look.
1. Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!
I can not drill this enough. One simple necklace can turn an outfit from bland to shabam in 2 seconds. Not even kidding. Adding earrings, necklace, hair scarf, a handbag. All these things just add more dimensions to your outfit. I love wearing a plain white shirt and adding a pop of color with some earrings turns the whole outfit into something a little more dressier. Point blank, you can never have too many accessories, and I mean that. If you like it, then wear it. Fashion is all about your personal style and embracing it.
2. Adding More Pieces
I know, y'all are probably like what?! What does this lady mean? But, what I mean when I say add pieces is simply adding more to what you already have on such as: a cute jacket, a kimono, a scarf, blazer, or an oversized sweater or cardigan. Anything goes here, like I said above, one simple thing can change a whole outfit. Depending on the season you can have your pick of what add on you are feeling. I know this up coming spring, kimonos are making a come back. I have already seen so many cute ones, too! I've seen mainly floor length ones coming back and I'll even share a few I'm loving down below, too!
3. Perfectly Paired Shoes
Okay, now for my favorite one of all.. SHOES. My shoe obsession has really just grown lately. I find myself shoe shopping more than anything else, too. Shoes can make or break an outfit I feel like and you want to be strategic when picking them. The weird thing about me is I always look at the shoes first. I do the same things with guys, I don't know why but I tell Carl all the time he can't wear his tennis shoes with certain outfits because it just looks so weird to me. I know, I'm crazy but bear with me. Lets be honest, you can have a killer outfit but if you walk up with some raunchy ass shoes or heels that do not go with your outfit at all it can just ruin it.. at least for me. Its almost like the base of an outfit. You can get a great pair of wedges and pair it with distressed jeans, a white tee, and a popped earring and that is such a cute and causal outfit, put together with no effort.
4. Hats/Hair Accessories
So many cute styles of hats are on trend this season, so take your pick! I'm always a sucker for the cute rancher hats, they have been my favorite for awhile. Maybe its because it gives off that boho vibe and I love that. Another trend that I absolutely love is the captain hat. (I'll have all these posted below too if you're curious as to what they are) Some people love this look and others, its not really for them. I remember when I first bought mine and every one in my family was like... "what are you wearing?!" but I loved it so much I just kept wearing it until it became a little more popular. Baseball hats are always so cute too! I actually love this laid back look, but it also kinda adds a little style to an outfit. I usually wear hats when I don't feel like washing my hair and I've had too many dry shampoo days. (lol)
I also really love the hair scarf trend thats happening too! I have already worn one about 4 times in the last month, its just SO cute and simple. Not to mention, its so easy to throw your hair in a ponytail or bun and tie a little scarf around, its just adorable. I love it and I'm totally here for it. I keep seeing all these ladies with hair barrettes, I'm trying to decide if I love it or hate it.. I will say the Gucci ones are cute, but $400? Umm, no thanks! You know I'll be on the hunt for some good dupes for you all!
These are just some simple ways to start incorporating more style into your wardrobe. I hope these tips help you out a little bit, Like I said earlier, they can be used all together or by picking one of them. Either way, I'm sure you will look stunning.
