Are you guys just as crazy about patterns this fall or is it just me?? I mean, we have SO many lovely styles that are on trend right now; all the cheetah, the camoflauge, flannel, snake skin, floral (its still trying to hang in there) & plaid! Now, don't get me wrong, I've never been one to love plaid.. maybe it was my years spent in Christian school wearing my collared & buttoned up shirts, khaki pants, & plaid skirts that may have put a bad taste in my mouth after 9 years of wearing uniforms every. single. day. (even though I'm truly grateful for the ability to go to a wonderful school). Usually, I like to dress up in comfortable/casual clothes that can be easily transformed into something you can dress up with some booties & a few accessories, but while I was shopping, this outfit just popped right out to me especially for this upcoming Christmas season; I think it's absolutely perfect! Any chance I get to dress up, I take it! Fashion & Beauty has always been a passion of mine so I love anything that lets me open the door to that & let a little piece of me out. So, that being said, I just had to find any occasion to wear this outfit to & I couldn't think of a better festivity than Christmas! The pops of red in the plaid just make it the perfect piece without overdoing it!
You wanna know the best part about this skirt though?? It's not even a skirt... yeah, you read that right.. its not! (Bet you didn't see that one coming!) Its actually a skort. I was utterly surprised when I tried this bad boy on, but I'm so glad that it was because it was like a nostalgic moment in the dressing room.. I was back in the early 2000s wearing one of those jean skorts that used to be so popular (like this one right here). Anyway, after that moment I knew I had to have it! No only does the built in shorts make it awesome for mobility, so you aren't accidentally showing everyone all the goods, it actually has pockets too! The comfort gods have blessed us with this perfect item of clothing, ladies. If you're anything like me, than you probably have a million of the same shirt but just slightly different styles & shades. I probably need three hands to count all the long sleeve white shirts I have but each of them are unique & they all serve a different purpose for my closet. Same thing goes with all the other colors of the rainbow, but for some reason I always find myself steering towards whites/creams. Maybe since it literally will match anything & thats what I love about it!

The top that I paired the plaid skort with has such a unique detail on the sleeves & around the neck that I just had to have it! I think it made the whole outfit a little more classy and that it would up the status in an outfit just from one dainty detail! Isn't it crazy how just one small thing can change everything about a look? I love that, though! I think that it's amazing how something so small can have such a big impact no matter the situation. In addition to the detail, the shirt is also a turtleneck but it is very lightweight unlike the sweater in my last post & the fit is amazing, it hugs in all the right places! (TTS) For reference, I'm 5'10 & wearing a small in the top & a medium in the skort, if that helps any with sizing questions! I popped the red strips out with a red lip & some red statement earring (that you can't see) & will link everything for you guys down below! The only thing that I couldn't find online were my shoes. I got them from Khol's about 2 years ago around this time. They are a suede fabric with a lace up in the front & I absolutely love these shoes they fit great & aren't hard on your feet at all. (obviously, if I'm wearing them two years later, lol) The link to the Plaid Skort can be found HERE. The link to the White Shirt can be found HERE. Earring can be found HERE. Best part is, this whole look can be accomplished under $50!
